Travel Requirements

Don't forget to check your passport expiration date! To board the flight to Italy, your passport must be valid for a minimum of 3 months from the date of departure from Italy. 6 months is recommended. Please account for 3 months for your passport to be processed and delivered.

Also, European airports (Italian ones included) will implement the EES (Entry/Exit System).
If this is your first time entering the Schengen Area after October 12th, 2025, passport control officers will scan your fingerprints and take a photo of your face. This information will be recorded in a digital file, so you won’t need to go through this procedure on future entries to the Schengen Area.

Considering that Florence is a walkable city, renting a car is usually only necessary for traveling to and from the more distant airports or if you plan to explore Italy and Tuscany before or after the wedding.
